Quality education should be available for everyone, everywhere. Our Scholarship Program increases access to higher education, but it also contributes to increasing the number of teachers in East Africa. Today many school classes are too large to ensure quality education. Therefore, it is one of Help to Help's priorities to reduce the pupil-teacher ratio by increasing the number of educated teachers.
Gender equality is another top priority for Help to Help and is carefully incorporated in everything we do. We work hard to reach our goal of having a 50/50 female to male ratio amongst the beneficiaries in our Scholarship Program. In Help to Help Academy we conduct special IT Boot Camps for female participants only to make sure that female students are given the skills needed to access employment on equal terms.
Decent work and economic growth is one of the focus areas for the Help to Help Academy Program. By arranging workshops in labour rights, entrepreneurship, CV writing and IT and computer skills, we directly increase the chances for students to gain employment on fair terms and hence enable economic growth.
