Enable impact on your big day - 5 tips for a successful fundraiser
Facebook's new fundraiser enables you to engage friends and relatives to do something meaningful in conjunction with your birthday, graduation or just on an ordinary day. In just a few months, Help to Help-supporters have enabled over 3 years of university studies for our students through this way. It's now super-easy to start a fundraiser, but what makes it successful? In this post, we'll share some of our insights we have gathered.
You can choose to initiate a general fundraiser for Help to Help and the raised money will be divided equally to all of our students' school fees. This is the easy way to get going.
However, creating a fundraiser for a education category, for example Medicine & Health, or even a specific student makes your fundraiser more personal, and tend to receive more contributions.
When you initiate the fundraiser - a pre-written text will appear about Help to Help and the cause. Consider writing the introduction yourself, or at least add your own introduction. If your friends understand why this matter is important for you, they will likely be more engaged in achieving the fundraiser's goal together with you.
It can be tempting to set the bar high, and of course, we won't stop you to do so! Higher target – higher potential impact! One smart way to reach a high target is to start with a lower target and increase the target when the first is reached. For example - if you wan't to raise 5 000 SEK for Rebecca's two last years at university, start with 2 500 SEK. When your sub target is reached, go for the full amount!
Reminders and inspiring posts are crucial to keep the fundraiser going. We will be happy to provide you with material. Just send us a message on Facebook or email!
Facebook has done a great job developing their fundraiser. It's easy and works well. So, if we'd leave you with one piece of of advice we'd say - start the fundraiser and the rest will take care of itself, pretty much.
Together with your friends, you can enable important education for one of our students in East Africa, and the effect it will have in the future.
