WHY Engineering & Natural Science
I was inspired to pursue to be a change maker in agriculture because agriculture is the back bone of Uganda but land production is static with increasing population. Also because the government’s statements of increased problems of food insecurity and malnutrition cases caused by high rates of post harvest losses, poor soils and poor managerial practices. My dream job is working as an agricultural extension worker helping the local rural farmers obtains access to scientifically improved farming methods. For example precision agriculture improves production and productivity of the local farmers at both large and small scale thus improving their livelihoods. My dream job also involves working with gender concepts of sensitizing women and girls to also take part in the agricultural sector in terms of planning so they can also obtain income.
