BACKGROUND
My name is Altho Njovu, I am a first born in a family of two children. I was born in Ruvuma region in 1994. In 1999 my family migrated to Dar es Salaam, the place where I grew up until my mother passed away in 2008 and my stepfather died two years later. Since them my grandfather, who is a local farmer, had to take care of me and my academic expenses by depending on his small scale farming. As it is known that the small scale farmers here in Tanzania have many challenges, due to those his help to me wasn't that effective but I knew and valued it because he did his best. My challenge so far is paying for my higher level education since I am still depending on this grandfather of mine. Due to those challenges that I have faced and I am still facing, I always tell myself not to forget those people who will be in my situation but have nobody to help them. I will have to be the one to take responsibility so that them don't get the same feelings as I am having right now.
WHY Engineering & Natural Science
I am a person who is happy to serve and see other people's problems be solved through my contribution. I am always trying to help different people depending on what help I can offer due to my position and ability at that time. My passion is to see a fast developing country with intellectual youth with passion to help others to fulfill their dreams as well. My dream job has always been becoming a big businessman with high success. I want to be able to run different projects aiming to increase awareness and empower young people to reach their dreams.
INTERESTS
In my spare time after class hours I like to learn new ideas. For example I think about different small businesses that I can start with. I read inspirational books, watch/listen to inspirational talks and watch movies. I also share ideas with friends, do online research on different businesses and most importantly: during the holidays I join my team to serve the youth in different schools.
