BACKGROUND
I was born in 1992, October 14, in my mother’s hometown and I grew up in my mother’s hands  until I was 2 years old. Then I was taken to my grandmother due to economic hardships, since my mother was poor and could not afford to raise me alone. By the time my father had another wife, since then I have been living with my grandmother (mother of my father) who lives in Arusha, the city found in the Northern part of Tanzania. Life has not been easy, since my grandmother was alone and not good financially. I managed to attend schools by little support from my father who has another family of three children excluding me. My mother also got married and had other two children apart from me and her financial situation is not good at all. She had mental problems a year ago that required a lot of money for the treatment. It has been difficult for me to get the basic needs, like clothes, education as well. My father earns a little (he is a carpenter), my grandmother is already old and now dependent on other people. When I was selected to join the university, I did not get the support (loan) from the board in our government like others. My father was disappointed and said I should stay at home and wait. I had to force him to try, and so together we borrowed money and asked for support from friends and paid for the first as well as third semester, but couldn’t pay for the second one. I am a person who is ambitious, and cannot agree to fail in whatever I want to do, I believe in effort and hardworking, I am not easily disappointed, I believe anyone can do anything when they want to, I live by my own views and I do not like anyone interfering with what I do. I strongly believe in myself and my abilities, I do what I believe to be right and I like to live within rules, I hate illegal stuffs, cheating and hypocrisy, truth and righteousness is all I need in life. I feel bad when the right of someone is denied. I like to do my responsibilities and duties. I am motivated to this field due to the situation I see in my country, most Tanzanians are engaged in agriculture but have a low life standard. Most of them do not really understand the potential of being agriculturalists. From this course I want to explore and know the potentials in agriculture and economics, then I can find a way to help the farmers and the other people to realize the potential opportunities. I also want to assist the government in any ways to realize the opportunities in agricultural economics, this will help to raise my country and my people. I wish to work for the welfare of the whole society surrounding me, not only for myself and my family, I want to use the special skills that I can acquire from my field of study to help and assist my local community, also the country as a whole if possible, though I know it is tough, I am determined and I strongly believe I can be one of the agents to bring changes. After the completion of my studies, I would be grateful to go for masters especially in the field of economics or agricultural economics. Thereafter I plan to work with different individuals and organizations to fulfill my desire of helping the local people in my country and area, I will then go for further studies in the same field of economics, this to make myself more competent in the field and be assured of working efficiently and sufficiently with the society.
