BACKGROUND
I am Ssegujja Ashiraf a second year student of Dental surgery Makerere University Uganda. My home district is Masaka though currently living in kampala. I come from a family of 6 where am the first born, I have two brothers one of which dropped out of school due to financial reasons and one sister. For years now our family has been struggling to earn a living and trying to make ends meet. I am looking forward to becoming an Oral Maxilo Facial Surgeon one day in future after completing my degree. This will put me in a place where I will be able to make a fine addition towards the health sector in Uganda and also reach out to the many people and also give back and help out all my siblings.
WHY Medicine & Health
My dream job is one that provides me with an opportunity to utilize all my skills and potential, giving me an opportunity to make a remarkably positive impact on people's lives and reduce the challenges in my community. To me that is being an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon.
INTERESTS
Quite a number of things interest me. I like swimming, watching football, Sharing and interacting with others, listening to music (Jazz, Country), I like doing research work, Reading newly published medical literature, I like being part of focused groups as am a team player and lastly I enjoy seeing people getting better after treatment just like any other medical person.

FREQUANTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How can I trust Ashiraf is a real student?

A: Ashiraf has applied for a scholarship from Help to Help and was granted one. We have reviewed the written application, interviewed Ashiraf via Skype. We have also double-checked the given identity with Makerere University. We now and then also do home-visits, and met with a clear majority of our students.

Q: If I donate, what happens with my donation?

A: Each semester, Help to Help pays school fees for our students. We reserve the right to only pay school fees for our students who submit their grades and receipts in time, who perform well in school with at least an avarage grade of B. The payment is done straight to each university. We demand each student to bring the official receipt from the administration office.

Q: Why do each student has their own fundraising profile?

A: We believe in a global "we" - our crowdfunding platform is a way for our students to express what societal issues they want to bring change to, and a way for our funders to learn and join their important causes by donating to their studies.
