BACKGROUND
I was born in 1999 at Manyara. I live with my mother and three siblings. My father ran away after realizing that he is HIV positive. At home, we live in a grass house and my mother is a peasant of maize and beans, which are the main foods at home. I joined secondary school from 2013 to 2016, and during that time we faced financial challenges. But, my mother and uncle stood up for me until I finished school and I did well in my final examination. During 2019, I completed high school, but failed to continue with my studies due to financial problems. The same year, 2019, I was offered a place at the University of Dar es Salaam to study a bachelor in commerce in accounting, but I postponed it due to financial problems. But since 2020, I have been able to resume my studies.
WHY
I have decided to study a bachelor of commerce in accounting because, in developing countries - especially in Tanzania - there is a poor allocation of financial resources. Therefore, I am confident that the education I will get from the university will make me able to address and solve the challenges for allocation of these financial resources. Being an accountant is the career that interests me the most, because I've always dreamed about it, also since many companies depend on accountants to keep their business running well.
INTERESTS
The art of mathematics requires a full mindset of logic and practicality; the same mentality is reciprocated in many corresponding fields such as economics and accounting. I feel that, with the knowledge of these both subjects, I will be completely inclined to seek a career in the field of accounting.
