BACKGROUND
My father is is 61 years old. He is married to three wives currently. My father and his wives are peasants. They grow crops mainly for home consumption and the surplus sold to buy utensils, scholastic materials for my siblings who are still studying in government schools and sometimes medication. My father has 24 children including two from his first wife she divorced. 15 children are below 18 years. Those above 18 years including me are unemployed. Two of them have an o'level certificate. It is me that is with the highest level of education. 6 of them(4 boys and 2 girls) are married and all with their spouses are peasants. My father had inherited land from his parents which I call the family land because it is were all the family lives and where they used to cultivate. This family land has been the source of my school fees ever since i joined the university. The fact that land is so cheap in our society (ugshs. 200000 -300000 an acre) almost the whole family land was getting finished and this led to conflicts in the family, family members claiming that my education has left them almost landless so no more land should be sold. Currently family members cultivate hired land and some cultivate land and share products with the owners of the land.
