BACKGROUND
I was born in a small scale farmers family in Ngara-Kagera, as the second born among four children. Education is the priority of my family and we were able to attend best schools before my parents encountered an economic crisis in 2010. My good academic progress paved my way for further studies, as well as through donations from relatives. I still strive because I still have a long way to go.
WHY Engineering & Natural Science
I aspire to serve my community as a mining engineer. This will help my community to utilize the precious resources found in our country. I will use my career to educate society on participatory economy through exploitation of available mineral resources.
INTERESTS
I love reading books and debating using the ideas i obtain from books.I also love serving my fellows by clearing a way for them as a leader.

In this photo I was helping to clean up the compound. In the giving back challenge, I with my fellows took time to help clean one of the nursing homes in our compounds. I also took part in training my classmates on the proper use of MS packages.

During the break from university due to Covid, I had a proper chance of expanding my knowledge on basic IT skills, mostly on Microsoft access and Microsoft Excel. I also attended an online training on how to attend online events. I am looking forward to improve my practical skills on the mining field as we are approaching the final year of our academic study.

I am currently motivated by the spirit of service in leadership as portrayed by Michelle's Becoming, The book gives a clear insight of what it takes to trust my story no matter how scary it seems.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How can I trust Buharije Leonard is a real student?

A: Buharije Leonard has applied for a scholarship from Help to Help and was granted one. We have reviewed the written application, interviewed Buharije Leonard via Skype. We have also double-checked the given identity with University of Dar es Salaam. We now and then also do home-visits, and met with a clear majority of our students.

Q: If I donate, what happens with my donation?

A: Each semester, Help to Help pays school fees for our students. We reserve the right to only pay school fees for our students who submit their grades and receipts in time, who perform well in school with at least an avarage grade of B. The payment is done straight to each university. We demand each student to bring the official receipt from the administration office.

Q: Why does each student have their own fundraising profile?

A: We believe in a global "we" - our crowdfunding platform is a way for our students to express what societal issues they want to bring change to, and a way for our funders to learn and join their important causes by donating to their studies.
