I believe that if i could also gain the skills to become a surgeon available for a society that has very few surgeons, it would be a dream come true.
BACKGROUND
My family consists of six children and my mother, where I am the second born. My elder brother finished secondary school, but stopped from there since he could not pay the tuition fees. We used to stay with both my mother and father, but unfortunately, last year my father passed away, and thus we are staying only with my mother in the house we rent, where she owns a small scale grocery store. My education has been financed by my uncle since primary school, but when I reached my sixth semester, he passed away and I could therefore not raise any more money for further studies.
MY CHOICE OF STUDIES
I was inspired by an orthopaedic doctor who saved my cousin's sister from trauma. I believe that if i could also gain the skills to become a surgeon available for a society that has very few surgeons, it would be a dream come true. Especially as many local people travel long distances from remote villages to look for specialists in referral hospitals. I would like to be an orthopaedic surgeon and address conditions such as congenital deformities, which especially disturb Ugandans at birth.
INTERESTS
In my free time I enjoy football, especially in the evening, or jogging. During the weekends I volunteer mostly in clubs which help people by cleaning, educating them about proper hygiene, and following SOP's in regards to fighting Covid-19.
