BACKGROUND
I'm the fifth out of nine children in our family. None of my older siblings have finished secondary education. Both of my parents are peasants . My previous studies were difficult due to my inability to pay for the school fees. My parents, relatives and other volunteers struggled to pay for the school fee.
WHY
I chose this field of study because a majority of people in our country - especially in villages - have no access to the supply of electricity. Thus, I was inspired to take this field of study as it may facilitate the accessibility of supply of electricity through innovating, promoting and advising other sustainable sources of energy, apart from the commonly used sources in our country. My dream job is to become a professional and competent engineer who can apply acquired knowledge to solve problems in society. I dream to have a company that will engaged in alternative sources of energy, apart from the commonly used energy sources.
INTERESTS
Besides my studies I like visiting friends, and also to attend different seminars and events that teach me about other life skills apart from my field of studies. Also, besides my studies, I like sports - both watching and playing, especially football.

In first semester I had a chance to join with my colleagues in community outreach whereby we participated in cleaning shore areas of Indian ocean in Dar es salaam. We were removing plastic wastes that were exposed in the area, after we suggested to those in charge how they can do so that if possible those plastic wastes could be recycled to usable products than affecting aquatic life. Here I was at University of Dar es salaam High voltage Engineering laboratory where we tested withstanding capabilities of different insulators with air as dielectric by varying high voltages.

This semester I expect to learn more about programming and computer fundamentals so as to link it with my studies. I think this will add my employability. I intend to develop a prototype that will help to solve society problem. I believe that at the University I will get enough support from my colleagues and lecturers as well.
