BACKGROUND
I am the second born in a family of eight children raised by a single mother who is a retired teacher. She has always been a source of inspiration and motivation for me. I was born and raised in Tororo district where I began my lower education after which I went to Mt St Mary's College Namagunga for both my ordinary and advanced level of education. I then proceeded to join Mbarara University of Science and Technology where I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
WHY
In order to be an important member of the health care team, I chose pharmacy as a career path because it is the most diverse and noble profession. It will enable me to leave a positive impact on patient care, research and innovation, promotion of safe use of medications for the betterment of health as well as helping to improve patient medication adherence. The fact that I can achieve all this by working together with other health care professionals bringing about improved clinical outcomes in patients, is another reason for choosing this field. This in the end maximizes general health outcomes in society. To be a holistic pharmacist and work in an environment that allows me to make a difference. I should be able to work in ways that positively impact on people's lives everyday. I would love to help people understand and use drugs properly and safely for the betterment of their health. I should be able to work together with other health care professionals like nurses and doctors to maximize health outcomes in my community.
INTERESTS
I like to read in order to broaden my knowledge on various topics and areas of life. I also like engaging in community outreaches which involve voluntary work. Playing lacrosse and tennis, swimming and listening to music are some of the things I like to do in my free time.

In March 2022, we conducted a community outreach in Mbarara. We cleaned the area involving activities like sweeping, garbage collection and burning the rubbish. We sensitised the locals on how to maintain their surroundings clean to promote good health and living conditions. We also wrote information on health and sanitation on placards which we placed around the area. In the photo, I was at a health center. We offered health services to the community members involving activities like blood donations, blood pressure tests, HIV and malaria screening, and medications. There was also counselling and treatments.
