BACKGROUND

I am a Tanzanian man who is 27 years of age. My physical appearance is neither black nor white and my height is about 175 cm. As my family background is concerned, I am the 4th born in the family of six children. I am currently living with my mother who is a single parent since my father died nine years ago when I was in form one at Enyoito Secondary School in Arusha region. My mother employs herself in small agricultural activities growing vegetables and tomatoes. Considering the family situation, my siblings and me are all financially poor, which has lead to poor academic progress in the family. Neither of my sibling enrolled in secondary school and I am the only person in the family who got an opportunity to go for further studies. Throughout my studies I have been depending on support from my sibling and my mother who have struggled a lot to help me. I am a courageous, prudent and ambitious boy who likes to study very hard with the intention of being professionally prominent in clinical dentistry. I studied at a secondary school that lacked a lot of learning resources such as books, pens and proper uniforms etcetera. Because I was unable to pay school contributions including school fees I was some times chased away to my home village in order to try finding school fee there. I was psychologically not comfortable and found myself spending a lot of time thinking about how to get school fees and how to run my daily life instead of studying. Hence I would like once again to say thanks for the Help to Help scholarship which provides a life changing opportunity for me.

My dream is to be a dental surgeon purposely because I would like to be in position to assist my family, community and even the whole nation - not only economically but also in case of providing clinical dental services.
