BACKGROUND
I am Nsobya George 24/M was born in a polygamous family where my dad has 5 wives and 15 children and my mother happens to be the latest wife of my dad and I also happen to be the first born for my mother and I have 5 siblings. When not at campus's, we live in Kayunga district in the central region of Uganda about 70km from Kampala the capital city of Uganda. I have been raised from Kayunga from where I joined Mengo senior school for high school and later joined Mbarara university in 2013/august and now in my final year (5th year) doing bachelors in medicine and surgery and am looking forward to get done with the program and go for further studies to equip me well in the battle of improving the health sector in the remote areas from where we come from.
WHY Medicine & Health
I am in the pursuit of becoming a maternal and child health specialist with the main aim of reducing the maternal mortality rate in Uganda by mainly focussing on the preventable causes and risk factors contributing to the statistics. For example encouraging all pregnant mothers to attend antenatal care services where some risk factors can be screened like pre ecclampsia and encourage them to plan to deliver in hospitals. To those with strong cultural affiliation who desire to be delivered by traditional birth attendants (TBAs), we shall make a work plan to persuade TBAs and give them rooms in the hospital such that they deliver mothers in the hospitals in that in any case of any complication: medical personal can intervene quickly and prevent avoidable deaths like from post partum hemorrhage. And also teaching VHTs danger signs during pregnancy such that medical attention can be sought in time. With this we shall be able to reduce maternal mortality rate from preventable and manageable causes thus a better Uganda.
INTERESTS
I like playing and watching football, an active member of FUMSA( Federation of Uganda medical students association) and also engaging in voluntary activities where we believe in service above self ie MUST- Lions Leos club. Where we reach to the unfortunate with support and inspiration of alumni of Mbarara Universityi

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How can I trust George Nsobya is a real student?

A: George Nsobya has applied for a scholarship from Help to Help and was granted one. We have reviewed the written application and conducted a thorough interview with George Nsobya . We have also double-checked the given identity with Mbarara University. We now and then also do home-visits and met with a majority of our students.

Q: If I donate, what happens with my donation?

A: Each semester, Help to Help pay school fees for our students. We reserve the right to only pay school fees for students who live up to the agreed terms and conditions for the scholarship which includes submitting grades in time, good academic perform and continuous communication with Help to Help among other things. The payments are done directly to each university. Once payments are done, we demand the universities to send us official receipts.

Q: Why does each student have their own fundraising profile?

A: We believe in a global "we" - our crowdfunding platform is a way for our students to express what societal issues they want to bring change to, and a way for our funders to learn and join their important causes by donating to their studies.
