BACKGROUND
I come from a family of 7 siblings but I grew up with my foster family, in a loving and peaceful environment. They took care of my social, emotional and physical needs. My foster family instilled in me values of hard work, discipline and respect for one another. We were many children growing in the homestead and we were encouraged to follow a strict code of guideline.
WHY Engineering & Natural Science
I desire to contribute to reducing dependence on using firewood and charcoal as a source of fuel, which are both detrimental to human health and the climate. This field would offer me an opportunity to develop and innovative ways to accelerate the uptake of clean energy solutions such as bio-gas, solar energy and hydro-power. This would directly impact the low income earners like my parents to live a better life and also reverse the effects of climate change. My dream job is to head an organisation charged with increasing access to the affordable sources of renewable energy in Africa. Increasing access to energy generated from solar, water and wind to rural communities.
INTERESTS
I like meeting new people and making friends. I am a volleyball player, captaining a team in school.
