BACKGROUND
My family lives in Bikiira-Bijja Village in Rakai District. The nearest town is Kyotera town. I have eight (8) siblings of whom 6 stay at home with the parents. Four of my siblings are below 18 years and the other four are above 18 years. My mother is a primary school teacher at a local primary school in the village, called St.Mary's Mabaale Primary School in Rakai District. My father was a peasant farmer in the village until he got a problem with his spine which left him bedridden till now. He can neither walk nor sit at the moment. Therefore he can no longer support the family. My mother takes care of him and the rest of us at the moment.
WHY Medicine & Health
I am very passionate about the medical laboratory science course am doing at the moment. My duty will be to carry out diagnosis of patients through different laboratory tests on people for various diseases ranging from very infectious and non infectious, to communicable and non communicable diseases. I will also perform drug sensitivity tests for various disease causing pathogens to find out whether they are sensitive or resistant to drugs. This is to curb the rise of Antimicrobial resistance in the world.
INTERESTS
I am over joyed when everyone in the community is well both socially and very healthy. I love seeing everyone happy, free from diseases and all kinds of ill-health. I love being a leader in the community and taking on different responsibilities. This gives me a chance to meet and interact with different kinds of people. I love extending a helping hand in my capacity, to those who can’t afford medical services. I love Music, that is, singing and drumming.
