Growing up in a large family dependent on agriculture inspired me to pursue a career in the field and empower my community with improved farming practices.
Growing up in a large family dependent on agriculture inspired me to pursue a career in the field and empower my community with improved farming practices.
BACKGROUND
I'm the eighth of nine children, so with my parents, there are eleven of us in my family. Only two of us have had the chance to get an education.
MY CHOICE OF STUDIES
I chose this field of study because agriculture is practical and hands-on. I also have a natural love for it, going all the way back to my childhood – it's in my blood! Finally, I chose agriculture because it's the backbone of Uganda's economy, and so many people depend on it. My dream job is to become an agricultural officer. After becoming an agricultural officer,I will help the people in the community to improve their agricultural practices. This will help them to get enough food and the surplus.
INTERESTS
My main interests lie in agriculture. I especially enjoy growing vegetables, like green peppers, which I sell to earn money for school supplies. I also raise poultry, like chickens and ducks. And to stay physically fit, I like playing football after a day in the garden.
