BACKGROUND
I grew up with my mother and brother . My father abandoned us when I was young. I earned full scholarships throughout secondary school due to my good grades. My mother is a peasant farmer, but she also works as a maid in town.
WHY
I chose this field of study because I was concerned about how a rapidly growing population would meet its food demands. I noticed that crop yields were decreasing season after season, and I became eager to understand why and find solutions. I believe this field of study will provide the answers I'm looking for. My dream job is being a geneticist in crop production which involves studying about genes and their alterations. Through this l can be able to alter genes, bring about gene mixing to create new genes. Through this one can be able to create crops that are resistant to diseases, harsh weather conditions, quick maturing varieties and good quality in terms of size, flavor. Through this people can be able to meet their food demands.
INTERESTS
I'm personally interested in learning and exchanging knowledge with others, especially ideas related to my goal of being a change agent in agriculture. I enjoy hands-on field practice, applying what I've learned in theory.
