BACKGROUND
I grew up in a family of five children together with our parents in Sekei street, Arusha. My father currently works at Enaboishu Secondary school as a cook and my mother does petty business to make a living. My older sister is pursuing her diploma at Tumaini University of Makumira, my two younger brothers are in Secondary level and my youngest sister is in primary level. I started my education journey back in 2002 at Wilkabaa pre and primary school, I completed in 2010 and got admitted to Arusha secondary school. I completed my Ordinary level there in 2014, I passed and got sponsored by the School of St. Jude in 2015 for my Advanced level which I completed in 2017. I worked as a volunteer for one year and by 2018 I got admitted to the University of Dar es Salaam. Here I am pursuing Bachelor of science in molecular biology and biotechnology.
WHY Engineering & Natural Science
I chose this field of study because firstly, it is what I love and what I can do best compared to other fields of studies. Secondly, I chose it because of its wide range of coverage from an employment perspective. I get to choose amongst many opportunities which I will have been exposed to. This increases the degree of being successful in my career through being employed. In this way, I can be able to help my society through the knowledge that I have acquired. Also, after being well established economically, I will be able to provide employment opportunities to others in my society through opening my own business firm thereby enhancing the help to help effect. My dream job is to become a molecular biotechnologist. A molecular biotechnologist learns about life processes at molecular basis, including interactions between biomolecules, their synthesis as well as their regulations. By knowing that, they can manipulate the processes in such a way that is of benefit to human life. A molecular biotechnologist can work in many places - for example the Government Chemist Laboratory Authority, Health Research Institutions, Quality control analyst in industries, Medical labaratories and many more.
