I chose to study occupational therapy so that I can help people with disability to gain skills to be able pursue their own dreams.
BACKGROUND
My name is Mary Sylvester and I am the fist born out of 5 children. We live with both our parents, but my mother is the one paying our school fess and see to our other basic needs. I started primary school in 2003 and attended st Joseph seminary for my secondary studies. This is when my mother became the one responsible for my school fees. After this I was chosen to attend Machame high school in Moshi for my advance studies. My mother paid mine and my siblings school fees at this time as well. After high school I was selected to join the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College. My mother is also trying to fund my diploma in Occupational Therapy and due to hardship in life she is not able to pay use money for her self. I am so glad for this chance that you have given me because my mother was not able to pay the school fees for her self.
MY CHOICE OF STUDIES
I chose to study occupational therapy so that I can help people with disability to gain skills to be able pursue their own dreams. Though my career in occupational therapy I will educate society about the causes of disabilities, the use of adaptive equipment and assistance, but above all I will provide motivation to people with disability.
INTERESTS
Most of the time I read novels. I also participate in student clubs, for example Rotaract club of KCMC.
