BACKGROUND
My name is Mussa Elisha, am 23 years old and I am the first born in our family of six children. I come from Makuyuni, Monduli district in Arusha region, Tanzania. My parents are peasants. I acquired primary education between 2007-2013 at Gelai Lumbwa primary school, ordinary secondary education between 2014-2017 at Ketumbeine secondary school, advanced secondary education between 2018-2020 at Messa secondary school and currently am persuing my first degree of Doctor of medicine (MD).
WHY
I choose to pursue doctor of medicine because of health related challenges facing my community such as lack of reproductive education which brings about maternal and perinatal death, unsafe menstruation in females and the habit of giving birth at home instead of a hospital. Other challenges include non-communicable diseases like hypertension, cancers like cervical cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer and other leading cancers. My aim is to cooperate with other health practitioners to serve our community through providing health education, advice, and treating existing cases so as to reduce the maternal and perinatal mortality rate and improve life standards of the community as whole. My dreams is to become a doctor and serve my community in health related challenges through cooperating with my colleague health practitioners. I have dreams also to have self-employment and open hospitals so as to serve people and create job opportunity to other people. I dreamed also to become a leader in Tanzania's health sector so as I can directly use my ideas to serve the Tanzanians.
INTERESTS
Besides my studies, I am interested in serving people through different ways like charity. I am also interested to be a leader and I have been a student leader in various positions since standard three in primary school and now I am a leader in various associations and in student organizations in our university. As a leader, I have been serving my fellow students in solving their challenges. I am interested also in teaching science subjects during the holiday as away to prepare other people to reach the level I reached or even more.

I plan to get additional skills apart from my doctor's career. That includes Excel, Microsoft Word, Data analysis and all other software programs. In the picture, I was waiting for entering to the dissection room for practical studies using dead bodies (Cadaver). I was out of the dissection room waiting for the session to begin. Cadaver dissection session at our university normally takes six to eight hours per day.
