BACKGROUND
I grew up as a second born of five children, born to Semata Paul Emmanuel and Tibuhwa Madrine. They are subsistence peasant farmers in the Kitoma Village. I went to St Julie for primary and Notre Dame Academy for lower secondary, which are both missionary schools. For high school, I went to Namirembe Hillside under BRAC Uganda.
WHY Medicine & Health
I chose pharmacy as my field of study because there is only one pharmacy in my district. Most drugs are obtained from drug shops where less trained nurses do not know the pharmacology of drugs. People take these drugs as prescribed by the nurses who have little knowledge and end up dying due to irrational drug use. I would like to graduate with a Master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy where I can work directly with patients to reduce medication related problems like adverse drug reactions, over dose and improper drug selection.
INTERESTS
In my free time I play volleyball or spectate football, especially when my class is playing. I also have a passion for music and love singing. Lastly I love reading romantic and adventure novels, where Harry Potter books take the lead.
