BACKGROUND
My name is Oscar Majima, I am 23 years old. I come from Missungwi district in Mwanza region and I am a Sukuma by tribe. I am the third child in a family of seven children, two girls and five boys. Both my parents are involved in small scale agriculture. I began my primary education at Missungwi primary school in 2005 and completed in 2011 where I was selected to join the secondary studies at Missungwi secondary school in the year 2012 at graduated in 2015. This was under the support from my parents. Thanks to Almighty God I am now doing the University studies at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College.
WHY Medicine & Health
I have chosen the field of Medical Laboratory because I want to help the society to understand the importance of performing laboratory investigations to confirm the presence of a suspected disease in a patient before taking medicines. This is a big problem as most people decide to take medicines without the physician prescriptions when one feel illness. Also I was inspired by the high demand of health science specialists in my country and the world at large and I was lucky to be selected to join studies in the Medical laboratory field. My dream job is to become among the best laboratory technicians in the world, working to serve the life of 1 billion people who are suffering from diseases that most of us have never heard of. I believe that providing laboratory health care service and performing investigations can monitor treatment and prevention of these diseases so as to serve the life of brothers and sisters suffering from diseases.
INTERESTS
I enjoy performing physical exercises, listening music, reading books and drawing.
