BACKGROUND
In my family we are 6 children and live only with our father. To be honest, our social support has never been based on our father due to financial status. We have mostly got support from our relatives. My dad is just a normal farmer who cultivates for only family consumption and despite such challenges we depended much on God and since we knew our life depends on studies we had to stick there for our life to move on. Personally, after finishing class seven I got a sponsorship from a private school due to my grades for o level studies. I did well and was the first in the region so I got another full sponsorship from the director of Waja Girls Secondary School for my advanced level studies. So in brief our life has been in such trend of getting help from other people to support our social needs. Currently my dad is still cultivating for family consumption and working for others and he is being paid in terms of wages like 1000 or 2000 or 5000 depending on the job. So that's how we live but we get no education support from our father.
WHY Medicine & Health
I chose medicine as my field of studies because I love helping people by using my knowledge and hands directly and I though this field of study would suit me. The great person who inspired me is doctor Ben Carson since he helped people to live again by using his knowledge and blessed hands. Apart from my profession I would like to help the society with health problems and support them when they cannot really pay for their medication. I also want to reach out to the community directly and give them medical education concerning various diseases. Lastly, I want to give support to students who cannot support their studies in universities.
INTERESTS
I really like helping people in need since I have gotten help since my youth. I would like to participate in various groups which supports people and give them a visit.

Well for the previous semester we did a community outreach at Rau primary school where we thought students on general hygiene and good health. It was of advantage to them since they benefitted a lot. In the picture I was in a classroom in ENT department at KCMC hospital , writing up patients hospital numbers so as to review their X-rays and CT scans for radiological studies.

Negative views on females are worrying me a lot. People think we are a weak gender and that we can’t control something but in reality women have wisdom, power and ability to take part in any developmental activity in the world. What is needed is mass education, empowerment, self confidence and trust. I will take my time to educate my fellow women, first to believe in themselves before empowering them so we can trust ourselves first then rule and educate others.

As a community outreach activity we visited one of the children orphanage near our university, the Upendo orphanage, where we encouraged the children on academics affair and supported them with exercise books , pencils and washing soaps. They were so happy and promised to adhere to what we thought them.
