BACKGROUND
I’m the second born of a family of 8 siblings with two girls and six boys. We grew up in a small village in the Ntungamo District in a three bedroom house. As the second born, I had lots of challenges growing up and helping my siblings grow. I attended my Primary Education from Kako Primary School, that was 3Km away from our Parent’s home. Somehow, I had challenges trying to fit in a society that was occupied by well to do families and kids. My father was an Assistant Nurse and my mother was a House wife. My secondary School was a bit easier as I attended most of it by Academic Scholarships.
WHY Medicine & Health
I have always loved Medicine. This dates way back when my Dad was an Assistant Nurse. Many People came to our home to seek treatment. I always saw them heal, it looked like Magic to me. He inspired me. I wanted to grow up and be like him. I can actually help people live a better, wealthier and healthy life. “Health is wealth.” People can increase their productivity if they are healthier. I love to help people stay healthy. As a medical student, I would love to grow and help my profession have better codes of conduct. I want to be among the leaders of the Uganda Medical Association, an umbrella that unites all Doctors in Uganda. I also want to engage the Government to improve the working conditions of Doctors.
INTERESTS
I love playing football in my free time. Before I started my third year of Medical School, I was on the University Football team. I also love travelling.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How can I trust Rogers Kwikiriza is a real student?

A: Rogers Kwikiriza has applied for a scholarship from Help to Help and was granted one. We have reviewed the written application, interviewed Rogers Kwikiriza via Skype. We have also double-checked the given identity with Mbarara University. We now and then also do home-visits, and met with a clear majority of our students.

Q: If I donate, what happens with my donation?

A: Each semester, Help to Help pays school fees for our students. We reserve the right to only pay school fees for our students who submit their grades and receipts in time, who perform well in school with at least an avarage grade of B. The payment is done straight to each university. We demand each student to bring the official receipt from the administration office.

Q: Why does each student have their own fundraising profile?

A: We believe in a global "we" - our crowdfunding platform is a way for our students to express what societal issues they want to bring change to, and a way for our funders to learn and join their important causes by donating to their studies.
