BACKGROUND
I was born in 1990 as the second child among five children. We have been living in Arusha region with my mother alone since our father abandoned us. My mother is a small scale entrepreneur having low capacity to support my education. I am determined to pursue my lifelong dream but my financial situation pulls me back. My dream job is being an orthopedic surgeon and a medical researcher. This will enable me to put a smile on the faces of people living with disabilities. It can be done through appropriate surgery and fabrication of artificial assistive devices that will make them walk and work again. I believe that this profession will also enable me to fulfill my desire to open my own hospital with an orthopedic workshop, which will help others and expand my knowledge base. I believe that with efforts, determination and your support, I will achieve my goal. Education has always been an important aspect of my life. At school, I also participated in various activities like, quiz trophies, educational symposiums, sports, scientific conferences and environmental and humanitarian clubs. All this has imposed me with a valuable volunteering experience. Currently, I am also the Vice President of the Tanzania Medical Student’s association (TAMSA) at my university where we conduct events and outreach programs to serve the community e.g. health education, screening of various diseases like diabetes, malaria and hypertension. All these experiences have helped to shape me. I am passionate in this career and willing to help the ones who need my support and care. I have love for others, treat everyone with respect and a smile. I am honest, diligent, hardworking and am always on time in studies and prayers. I am a valuable member of the team and willing to cooperate with others, can rapidly adopt to new challenges and I am a good listener who is willing to learn.

Q: How can I trust Salma Walele is a real student?

A: Salma Walele has applied for a scholarship from Help to Help and was granted one. We have reviewed the written application and conducted a thorough interview with Salma Walele . We have also double-checked the given identity with International Medical and Technological University. We now and then also do home-visits and met with a majority of our students.

Q: If I donate, what happens with my donation?

A: Each semester, Help to Help pay school fees for our students. We reserve the right to only pay school fees for students who live up to the agreed terms and conditions for the scholarship which includes submitting grades in time, good academic perform and continuous communication with Help to Help among other things. The payments are done directly to each university. Once payments are done, we demand the universities to send us official receipts.

Q: Why does each student have their own fundraising profile?

A: We believe in a global "we" - our crowdfunding platform is a way for our students to express what societal issues they want to bring change to, and a way for our funders to learn and join their important causes by donating to their studies.
