BACKGROUND
I am the son of Mr. Sserunkuuma Scofred and Mrs. Kizza Harriet. I have ten siblings and I grew up staying with my parents in Namagogo village, Southern division, Mubende district. Both my parents are peasant farmers who own a small piece of land where we are stay and cultivate. To ensure steady supply of food, they hire another small piece of land. I studied my primary and secondary in government schools to reduce the costs.
WHY Medicine & Health
In our family, we faced many challenges resulting from poor drug use including fainting, delayed cure and disease resistance to drugs among others. l chose pharmacy so I can ensure proper drug use among patients. My dream job is to be the head of clinical pharmacists in a referral hospital. This way l will be in a position to ensure proper drug use among patients. This can be done through explaining prescription to patients and giving the right drug to the right patients.
INTERESTS
I like watching movies, listening to music and doing exercises like playing football and stretching.

Scofred Kamya

April 15, 2022
During my previous holidays, I volunteered to help in providing patient-centred care at the government hospital particularly on pharmacies when intern medical practitioners were on the strike. I dispensed drugs to patients and advised patients how to take given drugs by interpreting drug prescriptions. I advised patients on how to use non pharmacological therapy to improve their quality of life and helped in monitoring of vitals for patients like measuring pulse rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure. In the photo, I was in the pharmaceutical chemistry/analytical research laboratory with my classmate.
