I strongly believe that with technology advancement in Uganda, there is a rising demand for advanced medical equipment and biomedical solutions.
BACKGROUND
I belong to a family of eight members, in which we are being taken care of by a single mother, whose occupation is farming. I went to Ngyeya preparatory school for my primary level and Bweranyangi girls' SSS for my secondary education. During my lower secondary, I developed a passionate interest in sciences and was able to pursue physics, chemistry, mathematics and ICT at higher secondary level. I am currently pursuing the first year of a bachelor's in Mechatronics and Biomedical engineering at Kyambogo University.
MY CHOICE OF STUDIES
I strongly believe that with technology advancement in Uganda, there is a rising demand for advanced medical equipment and biomedical solutions to complex health concerns. Biomedical engineering is a new course of study in Uganda and thus gives me an opportunity to be a part of a group of fresh innovative biomedical engineers, who can combine their diverse skills in order to create solutions to continuing health issues, improving treatment processes in Africa and lowering the cost of healthcare. My dream job is to become a biomedical engineer in a hospital or medical facility where I can work on research, developments and innovations on clinical and medical equipment, in order to improve on medical devices, diagnostic tools and treatment processes used in Uganda.
INTERESTS
My interests consist of acquiring new knowledge and skills through personal research, resourceful interactions with colleagues, and reading books. This enhances my creativity and innovative skills.
I am also actively participating in community voluntary work and university based engineering associations, where we showcase the significance of engineering to the community.
