BACKGROUND
I grew up in the rural and lessdeveloped southwest area of Tanzania just like many of Help to Help’s students. My parents are sadly not alive, my father died in 1998 and whenmy mother passed away four years later in 2003, I was forced to quit school for a year. With support from my brother, I managed to start school again and to accomplish my Secondary School studies with results good enough to be accepted to The Open University of Tanzania in 2011. I always had a dream of studying and working with economics and my choice to study a Bachelor of Arts in Economics was therefore not a surprise. Today I am living in Dar es Salaam where I am running my own business, which is supporting myself financially and enabling me to help my grandmother with money for clothes and medicine. I finished my Bachelor Degree in 2013 and I dream to develop my business, a clothes shop, and employ more people as it grows. Alongside with running my own business, I want to initiate entrepreneurship centers where I can conduct seminars especially for women since I believe that many others need to be encouraged to follow their dreams.
WHY Social Science & Business
I would like to become an economist running my own business. I want to initiate my own entrepreneurship center connected to my business.
