BACKGROUND
I come from a family of four girls raised by a single mother, as our father passed away in 2003. My mother has always worked hard to make sure we can satisfy our basic needs. She has been earning her living from her small scale peasant farming, in which she sells the surplus goods. She also works in people's gardens on the days that she is not in her own garden. We, the children, also help her with the garden work when we are at home for holiday. My uncle has been helping me to fund most of my education, until senior six where he withdrew his support, as he expected me to get government sponsorship for university. Unfortunately, it did not happen, which left me with my mother and my eldest sister being the only people supporting my education.
WHY
I have always wanted to be a medical doctor since childhood, as I felt like I could be the one to solve the health problems of people in my community. In my community, we have struggled with inadequate health care, where patients had to walk long distances to access health services. I therefore decided to study within the field of medicine and health. I have always wanted to be a medical doctor, ever since I was young. Being a doctor who puts the rights of the patients first, and works with maximum integrity and professionalism, is something I have always wanted. I want to be a doctor who will, by all means, solve people's health problems.
INTERESTS
I enjoy spending quality time with my friends whenever I can, where we share ideas, jokes, meals and also play a few games, such as board games. I also enjoy attending Christian fellowships whenever I can, where I work on my spiritual growth. I also play some volleyball, though it has been years now since I played it.
