BACKGROUND
Tupokigwe was born in 1990 in Mbeya in the southwest part of Tanzania. She got accepted to St. Joseph University in Tanzania in 2011 to study Civil Engineering. Tupokigwe got recommended by Help to Help’s very first student Neema Isaac. The two girls have known each other since childhood and have grown up in the same city. St. Joseph is a prestigious technical university and Tupokigwe has to study hard to cope with the high demands. So far she has gotten excellent grades proving she has spent many hours and late nights studying. She is dreaming of running her own business but could also imagine being employed with for example Tanroads or the Tanzania Building Agency, both governmentally run companies. Tupokigwe will be conducting her field practise during the spring of 2014 and she hopes to be able to do it with Tanroads to get experience and build her professional network. Large findings of natural gas and uranium has been found recently in Tanzania which creates a vast demand for infrastructure and consequently for engineers like Tupokigwe. Help to Help aims to support more engineers in the future as they will most certainly contribute to developments in the society.
