Growing up in a small farming village inspired me to pursue a career in agriculture and empower farmers with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive.
Growing up in a small farming village inspired me to pursue a career in agriculture and empower farmers with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive.
BACKGROUND
We are a family of nine—five girls and four boys. My parents are small-scale farmers. Most of us completed primary school, and I excelled academically, becoming the top student in my primary leaving exams. I continued to secondary school, where I was also active in academics and school activities.
MY CHOICE OF STUDIES
I grew up in a village where almost everyone, including myself, was a farmer. However, we lacked the skills to truly benefit from agriculture. This sparked a desire in me to gain new knowledge and skills to improve farming practices. My dream job is being an agricultural consultant.
Here I will be able to give expert advice to farmers.
This will be about pest management, financial advice and support to farmers.
I will be a good example by putting up demonstration farms.
INTERESTS
My hope is to find a job within a year of graduating. My first priority will be investing in land, as I know its value increases over time. I plan to pursue various agricultural enterprises on that land.
