In the next six months, I'm looking forward to get a job. The scholarship has helped me achieve my dream of pursuing a bachelor's degree which at first seemed impossible, but later became possible thanks to the scholarship. In addition to that, the Help to Help team has nurtured me into becoming a lady with great values and principles, which has prepared me well for the future to come. I intend to put all the knowledge I've acquired into practice, in order to benefit my society.

What kind of community outreach activity are you planning to do this semester?

I am part of the group of Help to Help beneficiaries which will conduct an awareness seminar with needy female students at Mbarara University of Science and Technology encouraging them to apply for the Help to Help scholarship. I intend to have more female students recruited for the scholarship in the next cohort because there is a higher possibility of a female student to drop out of school due to monetary issues compared to males.

What worries you in the world and what can you do to change that?

The increasingly alarming numbers of cases of school-going adolescent girls who become pregnant before finishing school most especially in my country Uganda

Parents have a big role to play concerning the social and emotional aspects in their children's lives especially girls. This also includes showing these girls the benefits of education and motivating them that they can be better people in the country rather than becoming parents at a young age Encouraging young girls to abstain from sex until marriage so as to achieve their set goals.
Providing knowledge about sex education to school-going adolescent girls to make them aware of the ways one can get pregnant since some are ignorant about the whole issue.
Stating examples of prominent successful elite ladies that would be role models to these young girls so as to motivate them.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How can I trust Winnie Nnankabirwa is a real student?

A: Winnie Nnankabirwa has applied for a scholarship from Help to Help and was granted one. We have reviewed the written application and conducted a thorough interview with Winnie Nnankabirwa . We have also double-checked the given identity with Mbarara University. We now and then also do home-visits and met with a majority of our students.

Q: If I donate, what happens with my donation?

A: Each semester, Help to Help pay school fees for our students. We reserve the right to only pay school fees for students who live up to the agreed terms and conditions for the scholarship which includes submitting grades in time, good academic perform and continuous communication with Help to Help among other things. The payments are done directly to each university. Once payments are done, we demand the universities to send us official receipts.

Q: Why does each student have their own fundraising profile?

A: We believe in a global "we" - our crowdfunding platform is a way for our students to express what societal issues they want to bring change to, and a way for our funders to learn and join their important causes by donating to their studies.
