ENGINEERING &
 NATURAL SCIENCE

Our goal for the academic year of 2018/2019 is to fund 12 students in the field of Engineering & Natural Science.
7 of 12 students (58%) funded so far this academic year
7 of 12 students (58%) funded so far this spring
Engineering & Natural Science are the areas where the exciting development happens. Ideas and research turn into products and processes that make society run smoother and allows humanity to thrive. East Africa currently faces a great gap in this area with many structural problems and a relatively small portion of the worlds intellectual property. We aim to supply this region with skilled professionals that can fill this gap and develop society in a uniquely East African way - that will surely benefit the rest of the world as well!

ABOUT PARTNERSHIPS
Thanks to our successful partnership with Tetra Laval, Help to Help has been able to apply its acclaimed model in Uganda. Now we can empower 50 selected youths and sponsor their education in engineering, medicine, nursing, teaching and much more. This cooperation is an important part in Help to Helps vision of enabling higher education for 1000 East African promising young talents by 2020.

In Uganda there is a great need to increase the portion of educated people as they currently only represent 4 % of the country’s 41 million citizens.  This results in a startling shortage of educated professional, with for example only 81* professional anaesthetists in the country. Compare this to Swedens 2000 anaesthetists for its 10 million citizens and you can see that there is a big challenge.

“We want to be part of - and contribute to Help to Helps 2020 vision. Help to Helps work has seen good results where the majority of the students graduate, finds employment and contributes to society and their families. We are convinced that they will be able to achieve the same results in Uganda. There are only two ways to develop a country, and that is to ensure food supply and give everybody the opportunity of education. We at Tetra Laval work with the first option every day, and now we will be able to tackle the other through Help to Help.”
Says Jörgen Haglind, Senior Vice President Group Communications, Tetra Laval.

“I am very happy about our partnership with Tetra Laval. As one of the biggest companies in Sweden they can, together with us, give more young people the education that is so vital to their futures. Today we have already enabled 208 degrees and our vision is to fund 1000 students by 2020.” Says Malin Cronqvist, founder and CEO of Help to Help.
